Today we’re joined by financial advisor Leslie Tracey to talk about all things business. Leslie is the owner of both Tracey Donavan Insurance & Retirement and Diamond Hands Media, as well as the host of the Diamond Hands Podcast.

Many of the most powerful women don’t realize how strong they really are. They may even end up hiding behind their man, when really, they could be ascending to greater things. You don’t need to make someone else feel like they’re doing their role well. As a female entrepreneur, your job is to do what you’re called to do.

The first thing you can do to set yourself up for success financially is to have the right policies in your back pocket, like a disability policy. You should also collateralize your debt so if anything happens to you, your partner or estate will not be on the line for it. Align yourself with a good CPA, bookkeeper, and business attorney.

Leslie emphasizes how much your mindset matters to success too—it’s just as important as any financial plan can be. When you believe in yourself, the universe conspires on your behalf. It’s easy to get stuck in false nervous system patterns, but those can keep you stuck in your business.

Journaling what’s happening in your life, whether it’s personal or business, can help you identify these patterns and change them. On the other hand, reflecting on old thoughts can also give you perspective on how far you’ve come. Once you appreciate the spiritual aspect of business, you can get rich, have free time, and feel good about it.
